PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein seeds can not be sown in a seedling raising container during high-speed transport and has low sowing operation efficiency. SOLUTION: The sowing apparatus for a seedling raising container is equipped with a horizontal groove-shaped recess 85 in parallel with a generatrix direction on the outer peripheral surface of a traversal axis feed roll 84 and a slit 86 in the cross direction to the feed recess 85, a rotary seed return brush 95 for sweeping and returning excess seeds to seed storage part 96 formed in a space of the upper side of a front guide plate 80 and the outer peripheral surface of the traversal axis feed roll 84 at the upper position of the traversal axis feed roll 84, a seed guide apparatus 97 that is connected to the feed recess 85, rotated together with the traversal axis feed roll 84 and guides seeds downward at the rear side of the traversal axis feed roll 84 and a raking out knife 87 that forcedly drops seeds connected to the feed recess 85 on each slit 86 on the up-down side in the rotation direction of the traversal axis feed roll 84 than the lower end edge 102 of a guide film 101.
