The present invention concerns a header for harvesting stalk crop, comprisinga frame, a header bottom, a multi-part cutter bar (34) arranged at the frontside of the header, wherein its cutter bar parts (34a, 34b) are arrangedcolinearly relative to each other and are driven oscillatingly transverse tothetravel direction, knives (44) that are fastened to the cutter bar parts (34a,34b)and interact with stationary or moving counter knives (46) connected to theframe, a drive device for driving the multi-part cutter bar (34), andconveyingmembers for transporting away the cut stalk crop.In order to provide a lightweight drive that is as compact as possible for themovement of the cutter bar parts, it is proposed that, behind the cutter barparts (34a, 34b), a gear housing (2) is arranged and a drive shaft (4) ends ina first plane inside the gear housing (2) the drive shaft (4) drives by meansofa bevel gear (6) a gear wheel (10) which is fixedly connected to an eccentricshaft (8) that is stationarily supported in the gear housing (2), wherein thegear wheel is arranged in a second plane above or below the drive shaftplane on the eccentric shaft (8) in the gear housing (2), at least twoeccentricdiscs (12) are arranged in a third plane and a fourth plane above each otherand the eccentric discs (12) each have correlated therewith in the plane oftherespectively correlated eccentric disc (12) an eccentric lever (14) that isconnected to a pivot lever (16) fixedly connected to a stationarily supportedpivot shaft (18) and to the pivot shaft (18) a crank arm (20) is fixedlyconnected, whose pivot movement is transmitted by a connecting elementonto a cutter bar part (34a, 34b).
