The present invention relates to a Lithospermum erythrorhizon pigment extract having an enhanced degree of water solubility, and to a production method therefor, and more specifically relates to a Lithospermum erythrorhizon pigment extract in which the degree of water solubility of shikonin and shikonin derivatives is increased； shikonin being the principal Lithospermum erythrorhizon pigment component.
