The present invention relates to an antidepressant composition containing an extract of Artemisia asiatica. It is previously known that DA-9601 (stillen^TM), 95% ethanol of Artemisia asiatica, has an antiinflammatory function, thereby being effective for mucosal ulcer. However, the present invention confirms, through an experiment, the fact that the DA-9601 (stillen^TM) has efficacy as an anti-depressant drug.본 발명은 애엽(artemisia asiatica) 추출물을 포함하는 항우울제 조성물에 대한 것으로, 종래에는 애엽의 95% 에탄올인 DA-9601(stillenTM) 가 항염증 기능을 가져서 위 점막 궤양에 유용하다는 것이 알려져 있었지만, 본 발명은 상기 DA-9601(stillenTM) 가 항우울제로서의 효능을 가진다는 것을 실험을 통하여 확인한 것이 특징이다.
