PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaged beverage containing a vegetable juice and/or a fruit juice which contains an alginate and gellan gum and which is controlled in the generation of globular units.
SOLUTION: The packaged beverage containing a vegetable juice and/or a fruit juice contains the following components (A)-(C): (A) an alginate (B) gellan gum and (C) a vegetable juice and/or fruit juice. The alginate (A) is 1.1-8% by mass as a sodium alginate equivalent, the percentage by mass of the gellan gum (B) satisfies the expression I: (B)&ge0.0003×(A)+0.010 and the expression II: (B)&le0.002×(A)+0.020, and the solids content derived from the vegetable and/or fruit juice is 0.01-25% by volume.
