The absorbent assembly (3) includes a vertically oblong absorbent member (33). The absorbent member (33) has a pair of fiber-free regions (34, 34) extending in its longitudinal direction. The fiber-free regions (34, 34) each straddle the front panel (2A) and the rear panel (2B).
