A vertically long absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable top sheet a liquid impermeable back sheet and a liquid retaining absorbent provided between the top sheet and the back sheet. The absorbent article is characterized in that: the absorbent comprises pulp fibers and synthetic fibers crimped sections are scattered on the absorbent and the mean length of the synthetic fibers is longer than the maximum distance between crimped sections in which the distance between a crimped section and the closest adjacent crimped section thereto is maximal.
