PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cultivation methods of Crocus sativus which are suitable for hydroponics and can increase the yield of crocin, a medicinal ingredient.SOLUTION: In cultivation methods of Crocus sativus by hydroponics in a room where room temperature and light irradiation can be managed, by irradiating light with a light-dark cycle of 8 hours in the light period and 16 hours in the dark period while supplying nutrient solution to the corm of Crocus sativus subjected to flower bud formation treatment and maintaining the room temperature at 17°C, Crocus sativus blooms. As a result, organs that perform vegetative growth during the flowering period grow healthy, metabolites produced by photosynthesis in addition to stored nutrients increase stigma dry weight, and the stigma yield (crocin yield) is increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT【課題】水耕栽培に適し、かつ、薬効成分であるクロシンの収量を増加させることができるサフランの栽培方法を提供する。【解決手段】室温および光照射の管理が可能な室内での水耕栽培によるサフランの栽培方法において、花芽形成処理を行ったサフランの球茎に養液供給を行いながら、室温を１７℃に維持しつつ、明期８時間とし暗期を１６時間とする明暗周期で光照射を行ってサフランを開花させる。これにより、開花期に栄養成長を行う器官が健全に成長し、貯蔵養分に加えて光合成により生産した代謝産物が柱頭乾物重を増大させ、柱頭の収量（クロシンの収量）増が図られる。【選択図】 図１
