There is provided a system and method of cleaning surfaces of an interior cabin space of a contamination comprising a microbial and viral load. The method includes the steps of sealing the interior cabin space and placing water, and a solid or gel pack, into a container and generating a vortex the container by rotating an impeller. The agitation causes the solid or gel pack to release a gaseous cleaning agent. An air-borne spray exiting from the container spreads throughout the interior cabin space to coat the surfaces to be cleaned within the interior cabin space. The cabin is maintained closed for an effective time period while the coating from the air-borne spray dwells on the surfaces to eliminate or substantially reduce the load of the contamination.La présente invention a trait à un système et un procédé qui permettent de nettoyer les surfaces d'un espace de cabine intérieur afin d'éliminer une contamination comportant une charge microbienne et virale. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à étanchéifier l'espace de cabine intérieur et à disposer de l'eau ainsi qu'un emballage solide ou en gel dans un récipient, et à générer un tourbillon dans le récipient grâce à la rotation d'un impulseur. L'agitation amène l'emballage solide ou en gel à libérer un agent de nettoyage gazeux. Une pulvérisation aérienne sortant du récipient se propage dans tout l'espace de cabine intérieur afin de recouvrir les surfaces à nettoyer dans cet espace de cabine intérieur. La cabine est maintenue fermée pendant une période effective tandis que le revêtement issu de la pulvérisation aérienne demeure sur les surfaces afin d'éliminer ou de réduire sensiblement la charge de la contamination.
