PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant for use in spraying the surface of organic waste, having excellent deodorant effect with reduced amount of spraying, and a deodorization method using the same.SOLUTION: A deodorant for use in spraying the surface of organic waste includes a solid organic acid and a filler having a specific gravity of 0.1 to 1, with a mass ratio of the compounding amount of the filler to the compounding amount of the solid organic acid of 0.5 to 2. Preferably the deodorant is further compounded with an oily component. Preferably the solid organic acid is citric acid and the filler is at least one selected from pearlite, diatom earth, and zeolite.【課題】優れた臭気防止作用を発揮しながら散布量を抑制することができる有機廃棄物の表面散布用防臭剤及びそれを用いた防臭方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の有機廃棄物の表面散布用防臭剤は、固体状の有機酸及び比重０．１～１の賦形剤を含有し、前記固体状の有機酸の配合量に対する前記賦形剤の配合量の質量比は、０．５～２であることを特徴とする。さらに、油性成分を配合することが好ましい。前記固体状の有機酸は、クエン酸であり、前記賦形剤は、パーライト、珪藻土、及びゼオライトから選ばれる少なくとも一種であることが好ましい。【選択図】なし
