PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily usable spinning reel whose reel body is well familiar with a hand to approximately eliminate the fatigue of the hand during the employment of the reel, when the spinning reel is used in a state that the reel body is mounted on a mounting surface.SOLUTION: This spinning reel (4) comprises the reel body (5) and a spool (34). The reel body (5) has a bottom portion (9, 16a, 16b) mounted on the mounting surface (3a), and an upper surface (6a) on which the hand is put. The spool (34) is disposed in front of the reel body (5), and is driven in a direction for winding up a line (35) through an electric motor (44). The upper surface (6a) of the reel body (5) has the first region (17) for receiving the palm of the hand, and the second region (18) for receiving the fingers of the hand.
