A device and method for monitoring pain of a user (50) are presented. The device (10) comprises a receiving unit (12) for receiving an accelerometer signal (38) from an accelerometer sensor (30) worn by the user (50), wherein the accelerometer signal (38) comprises components of a pulse signal (20) and a respiration signal (22) and a processing unit (14) configured to: derive the pulse signal (20) and the respiration signal (22) from the accelerometer signal (38) adapt the pulse signal (20) based on the respiration signal (22) in order to obtain a corrected pulse signal (40) and derive a pain descriptor based on the corrected pulse signal (40).La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé destinés à surveiller la douleur dun utilisateur (50). Le dispositif (10) comprend une unité de réception (12) destinée à recevoir un signal daccéléromètre (38) en provenance dun capteur daccéléromètre (30) porté par lutilisateur (50), le signal daccéléromètre (38) comprenant des composantes dun signal de pouls (20) et dun signal de respiration (22) et une unité de traitement (14) conçue de façon à : déduire le signal de pouls (20) et le signal de respiration (22) à partir du signal daccéléromètre (38) adapter le signal de pouls (20) sur la base du signal de respiration (22) afin dobtenir un signal de pouls corrigé (40) et déduire un descripteur de la douleur sur la base du signal de pouls corrigé (40).
