594644 Disclosed is a carrier and dropper apparatus for a trotline, or for a dropper line carrying the trotline. The apparatus is either towed by or forms part of a motorised kontiki, catamaran or torpedo. It provides an automatic longline and trotline setting apparatus. The carrier and dropper apparatus includes a mounted slotted deployment reel able to rotate relative to its mounting member or frame to deploy the trotline. The mounting member is adapted to be connectable by a mainline to a retrieval reel or is connected by mainline to a retrieval and/or deployment reel.
