PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter capable of raising a temperature of a blood vessel in contact with a balloon to a target temperature in a short time by efficiently heating a heat-generating member.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 10 includes: a shaft 12 that has an elastically-inflatable balloon 11 at a distal end, and a space causing a fluid to inflow/outflow with respect to the balloon 11, in the inside thereof a heat-generating member 22 provided in an internal space of the balloon 11 and optical fibers 20A and 20B extended to the internal space of the balloon 11 along the shaft 12 for applying light input in a proximal end, from the distal end to the heat-generating member 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
