In one embodiment, a method of computing peak spectral irradiance is provided. The method comprises steps of characterizing a light source for determining irradiance distribution pattern, generating multiple density cones in a three dimensional model based on the irradiance distribution pattern, positioning the multiple density cones in a desired layout, measuring density of irradiance at one or more locations and optimizing the positioning of one or more light sources for obtaining desired irradiance distribution.
