An absorbent pad including a chassishaving a first side edge and a second side edge. Thechassis includes a liquid pervious topsheet and a liquidimpervious backsheet. An absorbent system is disposedbetween the topsheet and the backsheet. Anelastic element is disposed along each of the first andsecond side edges of the chassis and attached to atleast one of the topsheet and the backsheet, the elasticelements generating a cupping action so that the absorbentpad is biased towards a cup-like shape. A firstside adhesive element is attached to the chassis inwardlyfrom the first side edge of the chassis. A secondside adhesive element is attached to the chassis inwardlyfrom the second side edge of the chassis. Acentral adhesive element is attached to the chassis betweenthe first and second side adhesive elements.
