PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxidation hair dye which can suppress excessive hair dyeing of an already-dyed part, and does not produce a color difference between an already-dyed part and a newly-grown part even if dyeing at one time, while maintaining the effect of suppressing dyeing to the skin of an ascorbic acid hair dye.SOLUTION: An oxidation hair dye composition is used by mixing a first agent containing an oxidation dye and an alkali agent with a second agent containing an oxidant. The mixture contains (A) 0.1-10 mass% of ascorbic acid and (B) 0.01-2.5 mass% of hydroxy acid. The pH after mixing is 6-9.
