A cutting system, in particular suitable for the pruning of a tree and/or a shrub, comprising: a shear device having a first and a second handle element of elongated shape, each integral, at a distal end, to a respective first or second blade, and a rotable connection between the handle elements to allow a drive of the blades according to a mutual approaching/cutting and mutual spacing motion a rod element detachably connected or connectable at its first end to the said first and second handle element at respective proximal ends of them, in which the configuration is such that the rod element is locked or lockable to one of the handle elements and slidably connected to the other one, so that a pulling action exerted on the rod element determines an approach and cutting motion of the blades.
