Provided is a practical microneedle preparation which solves the problem that even if it is possible for a drug to be applied quantitatively onto a tip end portion of a microneedle, a drug residue is generated on the stratum corneum when the drug is actually used as a percutaneous absorption medication. In a microneedle array in which a needle length is at least equal to 350 µm and at most equal to 900 µm, the diameter of the apex of the needle tip end portion is at least equal to 20 µm and at most equal to 100 µm, which has a drug coat coating portion, and which has a bio-insoluble polymer as a base, a lower edge of the drug coating portion is at least 200 µm from a root of the needle.
