Provided is a thyroid guard for radiography capable of effectively protecting the thyroid gland, which is a target organ vulnerable to radiation, and providing accurate diagnosis images by preventing artifacts on the images in radiography including panoramic radiography. To do so, the present invention provides a thyroid guard to protect the thyroid gland against radiation from a radiography device and includes: a rear guard unit which shields the rear part of the collum against radiation in the rear region of a vertical line passing the left and the right outer mental foramen in a vertical direction and a front guard unit which shields the front part of the collum against radiation while being placed apart from the rear guard unit. The interval between the rear guard unit and the front guard unit is better to be exposed to the radiation. The rear guard unit blocks the direct radiation to the thyroid gland toward the collum in the rear part of the collum. The front guard unit protects the thyroid gland against secondary radiation due to scattering or reflection.
