The packing has a tube (102) with two ends, and a housing (106) receiving an osteosynthesis screw (110). The housing has an opening emerging on one end, and a cap (116) tightly closing the housing. The housing extends itself along a longitudinal direction. The other end serves as a base that is supported on a horizontal plane and perpendicular to the direction, to access the screw via the opening, when the cap is opened. An independent claim is also included for a protection assembly having an assembly of a packing and an osteosynthesis screw.
