A method and device for detecting a worsening of the cardio-respiratory condition of a patient treated using a respiratory assistance device comprising means for collecting and processing parameters indicative: - of a first parameter indicative of the breathing rate in a first observation window； - of a second parameter indicative of the percentage of cycles initiated by the patient during a second observation window； - of a third parameter indicative of the duration of use of the apparatus during a third observation window. The method is characterized in that it involves detecting a significant variation in one of said parameters over at least two consecutive or non-consecutive days during a consecutive period of n days, where n is strictly greater than 3 and preferably greater than or equal to 5； and, in response to said detection, generating an alert intended for said patient or for a practitioner in order to inform same of a significant risk of worsening of the cardio-respiratory condition of the patient.Un procédé et dispositif de détection d'une aggravation de l'état cardio-respiratoire d'un patient traité par un dispositif d'assistance respiratoire comportant des moyens de collecte et de traitement de paramètres représentatifs : - d'un premier paramètre représentatif de la fréquence respiratoire sur une première fenêtre d'observation； - d'un second paramètre représentatif du pourcentage de cycles déclenchés par le patient durant une seconde fenêtre d'observation； - d'un troisième paramètre représentatif de la durée d'utilisation de l'appareil durant une troisième fenêtre d'observation. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte la détection d'une variation significative de l'un desdits paramètres durant au moins deux jours consécutifs ou non consécutifs durant une période consécutive de n jours, avec n supérieur strictement à 3 et de préférence ≥5； et en réponse à ladite détection, la génération d'une alerte à l'attention dudit patient ou d'un praticien
