An apparatus for severing fruits and vegetables at the stems is described. The apparatus maximises visual appeal of separated produce by using guides to cut stem at a desirable point and minimise damage to produce by using a grooved moving tray. Produce, e.g. cherries, are placed in the grooves of the tray (21, 22, 23..., Fig 2) and are picked up at the stem by the ramps (11-1, 12-1, 13-1....) to be severed by the respective cutters (11, 12, 13....). The series of blades and ramps are attached to a frame that allows for movement parallel to the grooves which aids in cutting the stems.
