PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of ensuring a heat dissipation path with a sufficient capacity toward the proximal end side of an insertion section.SOLUTION: The endoscope is provided with an imaging device at a distal end 10 of an insertion section 6 which is inserted into a body cavity. The imaging device includes: an image sensor 21 mounted with an image receiving surface thereof crossing a longitudinal direction of the insertion section 6 a sensor connection part 30 opposing a surface on which a connection terminal 26 of the image sensor 21 is provided, and connecting to the connection terminal 26 and a wire connection part 31 extending from an outer diameter end of the sensor connection part 30 toward the center of the image receiving surface on the proximal end side of the insertion section 6. The imaging device further includes a composite wire 27 obtained by bundling a plurality of cables 28 connecting to a circuit board 24 folded once or more and to a cable connection surface 31a of the wire connection part 31 opposing the proximal end of the insertion section 6. The composite wire 27 includes a first shield conductor 27B provided around the plurality of cables 28 which are bundled.
