PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire having excellent plasticity and torque transmission properties.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: a wire body having flexibility； a coil 41 provided around an outer periphery of the wire body and so formed that a wire rod 40 is helically wound around the wire body； and a coating layer 8 for covering the outer periphery of the coil 41.
