PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus and a photographing condition setting method capable of accurately retrieving a photographing condition suitable to the body structure of a subject from the past images of other subjects and setting the photographing condition.SOLUTION: A system control apparatus 124 calculates a density distribution profile 133x from a scanogram image 137x of a photographing target patient X, and retrieves past image data 131 of another patient similar to the scanogram image 137x of the photographing target patient X from the past image data 131 stored in a storage apparatus 130, with the density distribution profile 133x as a retrieval condition.
