PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus, imaging the heart of a subject with high image quality and low exposure to radiation and at high speed even when the subject has a comparatively high heart rate.
SOLUTION: A helical scan to an imaging region ZR1 including the heart of a subject is divided into a first helical scan performed for about half region SR11 from one end P11 of an imaging region ZR1 in the +z direction and a second helical scan performed for about half region SR12 from the other end P12 of the imaging region ZR1 in the -z direction, and each helical scan is performed within one heartbeat in synchronization with the heartbeat. Thus, the continuity of scan can be maintained to the utmost to more reduce a change in cardiac phase during scanning.
