The suture passer includes a body, from which two mechanisms protrude: a hollow needle through which a suture is guided, the suture exiting at the surgical site； and a sliding hollow tube with a distal opening, with a pincer/clamp/jaws held within the sliding hollow tube. The two primary parts of the suture passer are the hollow needle and the retrieval member.
