The present invention relates to herbicidal compositions and methods for killing or controlling the growth and proliferation of unwanted plants. The herbicidal compositions of the present invention cause earlier visual symptoms of treatment (e.g., phytotoxic effects) and/or enhanced effectiveness when applied to foliage of plants. The herbicidal compositions of the present invention include an organophosphorus herbicide or a herbicidal derivative thereof (e.g., glyphosate), a bipyridilium or a herbicidal derivative thereof, and an alkoxylated alcohol surfactant. The compositions of the present invention are formulated as ready-to-use (RTU) formulations.
