The present invention relates to a wheel chair having a detachable power transmission system. The wheel chair includes wheels, a seat, armrests, and a backrest. The wheel chair comprises a connection housing which is installed in and connected to the lower part of the back surface of the wheel chair； a shock absorber which is extended from the center of the connection housing to the rear side； an electric wheel which is fixed and connected by the shock absorber and support rods and comes in contact with the ground； a drive motor unit which is connected to the axis of the electric wheel and rotates the electric wheel； a secondary batter which is fixed to and installed in the front part of the connection housing； a power transmission device which has a control unit for controlling the operation and power of the drive motor unit by being connected to the drive motor unit and the secondary battery either by a wire or wirelessly； and a steering device which is connected to a contact pad adjacent to both wheels by a wire and performs a steering action by pulling one of wires by the lateral operation of a lever and allowing the contact pad to be in touch with one of the wheels and the wheel to be braked. The power transmission device is installed by connecting the connection housing to both support rods for supporting the wheels. The power transmission system can be easily installed in a commonly used typical wheel chair. The power transmission system has a simple structure and is light in weight.
