A method for fabricating a denture using, among other devices, a semi-custom thermoplastic tray (34). The thermoplastic tray (34) is customized over a mold of an edentulous ridge. The thermoplastic tray (34) has a handle (40) that it trimmed off after its use as a tray thereby converting the thermoplastic tray (34) into a base plate for continued fabrication of the denture. This allows the denture to be completed in only a few days with the patient making a trip to the dentist for the initial fabrication steps and then a second time to pick the finalized denture.Linvention concerne un procédé de fabrication dune prothèse dentaire à laide, entre autres dispositifs, dun porte-empreinte thermoplastique (34) semi-personnalisé. Le porte-empreinte thermoplastique (34) est personnalisé sur un moule dune crête édentée. Le porte-empreinte thermoplastique (34) a une poignée (40) qui le coupe après son utilisation en tant que porte-empreinte, convertissant ainsi le porte-empreinte thermoplastique (34) en une plaque de base pour la fabrication continue de la prothèse dentaire. Ceci permet à la prothèse dentaire dêtre achevée seulement quelques jours avec le patient effectuant une visite chez le dentiste pour les étapes de fabrication initiales, puis une seconde fois pour choisir la prothèse dentaire finalisée.
