The present invention relates to a method for purifying 2,3-butanediol and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing 2,3-butanediol suitable to be used as an ingredient for cosmetics by removing dissolved oxygen to effectively control generation of a substance causing odor and removing moisture to be distilled in a process of refining the 2,3-butanediol obtained by fermentation. According to the present invention, the method for purifying 2,3-butanediol comprises the following steps: A) putting a raw ingredient 2,3-butanediol in a reactor； B) adding 0.5-10 wt% of one or more dehydrating agents selected from the group consisting of CaCl_2, MgSO_4, Na_2SO_4, CaSO_4, K_2CO_3, CaO and BaO with respect to the 2,3-butanediol while stirring the same； C) removing the dissolved oxygen by purging noble gas； and D) collecting the purified 2,3-butanediol by vacuum distillation.본 발명은 2,3-부탄디올의 정제방법에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로는 발효를 통해 얻어진 2,3-부탄디올을 정류하는 과정에서, 불쾌 취의 원인물질 생성을 효과적으로 제어하기 위하여 용존산소를 제거하고, 수분을 제거하여 증류함으로써 화장품의 원료로 사용되기에 적합한 2,3-부탄디올을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, A)반응기에 원료 2,3-부탄디올을 투입하는 단계； B)교반과 함께 CaCl2, MgSO4,Na2SO4,CaSO4,K2CO3,CaO 및 BaO로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택되는 적어도 하나의 수분제거제를 2,3-부탄디올에 대하여 0.5~10중량%의 비율로 첨가하는 단계； C)비활성기체 퍼징(purging)을 통하여 용존산소를 제거하는 단계； 및 D)감압증류하여 정제된 2,3-부탄디올을 회수하는 단계를 포함하는 2,3-부탄디올의 정제방법이 제공된다.
