An extract of pod of Impatiens balsamina L. against Helicobacter pylori is provided. This pod extract significantly has lower minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration against H. pylori while compared with those extracts from root/stem/leaf/flower and seed. The active compound of this pod extract is 2-methoxy-1, 4-naphthoquinone.
