A control system (100) for controlling movement of a medical device delivery system (10), a stent delivery system (10) and a method for controlling movement of a medical device delivery system are provided. The control system includes a first extendable arm (102) comprising a plurality of first struts (110) interconnected at intermediate points (121) and end points (123) of the first struts. The first arm is movable between a first position and a second position and the first arm is operably connected to one of a first shaft (22) and the second shaft (24). The control system also includes a first actuator (114) operably connected to the first arm and the first actuator is operable to move the first arm from the first position to the second position. Movement of the first arm moves the first shaft relative to the second shaft to change the position of the second shaft relative to the first shaft.
