Disclosed is a method for effecting the sustained release of an insecticidal active agent, employing cellulosic mat technology and existing heating equipment, wherein the method comprises heating the mat, by means of a heater, at a temperature selected to be within the range of from 60º C to 95º C. To this end, the active substance is selected from the group consisting of transfluthrin, metofluthrin, and mixtures thereof.Se describe un método para efectuar la liberación continua de un agente activo insecticida, que emplea la tecnología de la estera celulósica y el equipo de calentamiento existente, donde el método comprende el calentamiento de la estera, mediante un calentador, a una temperatura seleccionada que está dentro del intervalo de 60°C a 95°C. Para este propósito, la sustancia activa se selecciona del grupo que consiste de transfiutrina, metoflutrina, y de las mezclas de las mismas.
