Embodiment of the present disclosure relate to a device to determine a distance of a target. The device comprises a transducer unit to perform one of transmit an ultrasonic signal to the target and receive a reflected signal from the target. A transceiver unit is configured to perform at least one of generate a signal, amplify the received reflected signals and process the received reflected signal. Also, a digital controller is configured to perform synthesising the signals processed by the at least one transceiver, and converting the processed signals into a digital signals. Furthermore, a signal processor computes predefined parameters based on the digital signals and perform at least one of cancellation of reverberation, computing time of flight to determine precise distance computation with real time velocity calibration based on the computed predefined parameters, to determine the distance between the device and the target.
