PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purifier to make a matter to be treated in air quickly into a harmless matter to purify the air by a simple apparatus configuration.
SOLUTION: The air purifier includes a photosensitizing reaction devices 3, 5 including liquid 13 containing a photosensitizing dye and a gas-liquid contact part 19 to bring air into gas-liquid contact including the matter to be treated set in air with the liquid 13, and an irradiation means 7, 9 to irradiate light to excite the photosensitizing dye to the liquid 13 in the photosensitizing devices 3, 5. The air purifier takes the matter to be treated in air into the liquid 13 and generates singlet oxygen by a photosensitizing reaction to make the matter to be treated into harmless to purify the air.
