It is intended to provide a self-repairing material which is a crosslinked polymer in which a number of dangling chains are bound to a crosslinked polymer structure, wherein it exhibits a property of a gel in the vicinity of critical state, which has both material shape retention property due to the crosslinked polymer structure and self-repairing property due to the dangling chains by controlling the binding degree of dangling chains to the crosslinked polymer structure and the molecular weight among the crosslinked points in the crosslinked polymer structure to fall within a certain specific range. This self-repairing material can be produced simply at low cost, and has an excellent self-repairing property. A self-repairing structure utilizing this self-repairing material can be also provided.
