PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method accurately detecting line-shape abnormal image elements in a radiation detector.
SOLUTION: This detection method is characterized in performing a smoothing filtering process of a filter size being long in the direction orthogonally crossing with the line direction of line-shape abnormal image elements, to initial image data of the radiation detector (steps S3 and S11) generating difference image data formed by getting a difference between initial image data and the image data after the smoothing filtering process (steps S4 and S12) performing an edge highlighting process to the difference image data (steps S5 and S13) and setting a predetermined threshold to the difference image data treated by the edge highlighting process and determining a plurality of line-shape image elements where the image elements having the pixel values of the threshold or more are continued, as the line-shape image elements (steps S6 and S14). This method can generate the difference image data after the edge highlighting where the line-shape abnormal image elements are further highlighted and popped up so as to further accurately detect the line-shape abnormal image elements having just a minute change.
