Provided is an MET inhibitor which comprises Epherdae herba (mao) or a Chinese crude drug containing E. herba. It is found out that an E. herba-based preparation (mao-to) or E. herba inhibits the tyrosine phosphorylation of MET and thus strongly suppresses the HGF-MET signaling. It is also clarified that these inhibitory activities are caused by E. herba that is a crude drug constituting the E. herba-based preparation. By inhibiting the HGF-MET signaling, E. herba suppresses the proliferation, infiltration and metastasis of MET-expressing cancer cells.
