The present invention relates to anesthetic formulations based on tetracaine and methods of use thereof. The present invention also provides dental anesthetic preparations based on tetracaine and upper dental arches comprising the distal half of the first molar, the second molar, and the third molar using these preparations. It also relates to a method for anesthetizing the tissue around the posterior maxillary molar and the posterior maxillary molar.
