PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact wheel device capable of climbing over a step easily and smoothly.SOLUTION: A wheel device includes: a freely rotatable travelling wheel 9 a first swing arm 10 in which a step detection roller 1 arranged in front of the travelling wheel 9 is attached to a first lower end part 10b a second swing arm 20 in which an auxiliary wheel 2 arranged in front of the step detection roller 1 is attached to a second lower end part 20b and a repulsive energization member 3 for always energizing the second lower end part 20b forward-upwardly repulsively.
