PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition comprising as an active ingredient a novel low molecular weight compound which inhibits the production of inducible MMPs, particularly MMP-9, rather than the production of constant MMP-2.SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition comprises a compound represented by the following formula and has a specific chemical structure as an active ingredient.
