The present invention provides a protein kinase inhibitor in the treatment of solid organ graft rejection and graft versus host disease (GVHD), particularly the use of JAK2 inhibitors of the formula (I) described herein. In addition, combination therapy for solid organ graft rejection and treatment of graft versus host disease is also provided. A solid organ graft rejection occurs when the transplant is rejected by the recipients immune system and destroys the graft.Typical treatment of solid organ graft rejection involves short-term high-dose corticosteroids, often combined with antiproliferative agents. Antibody therapy has also been applied to immunosuppression therapy.
