PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter unit for an air cleaner which has collection efficiency and a deodorization performance, and prolongs the service life of the deodorization performance at a low cost.SOLUTION: An air filter unit for an air cleaner includes: a dust collecting part formed by pleating a two-layer filter medium whose collection efficiency of 0.3 μm particles at an air rate of 5.3 cm/second measured on the basis of JIS-B-9908 form 1 is 99.9% or higher and a sheet-like deodorization part in which a deodorant composed of inorganic particles and acid hydrazide is stuck to the surface.
