PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for alleviating puncturing pain for alleviating pain when a puncture needle is inserted to a human body in artificial dialysis, etc., and also to provide a device for alleviating the puncturing pain used for the method.
SOLUTION: A pressure body 14 which is cooled by a Peltier element 15 and is brought into surface-contact with skin is used, and the pressure body 14 is cooled to 3-7 degrees Celsius, and then, is brought into contact with a region where the puncture needle is inserted for 20 seconds or more. Then, the surface temperature of the skin is cooled to 22-28 degrees. Thus, peripheral nerves become paralyzed, so that the pain is alleviated in inserting the puncture needle. No chemical is used in the method thereby to eliminate the risk of causing an allergic reaction and damaging the skin. The method is safely and repetitively used by anyone and gives no unpleasant feelings since excessive cooling like refrigeration anesthesia, etc., is not performed.
