PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is excellent in leakage prevention property and is capable of being folded compactly.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 10 is provided with a top sheet 1, a back sheet 2 and an absorbent body 3 interposed between both sheets. In the absorbent body 3, a high thickness area 33 and a low thickness area 34 are extended and formed in the longitudinal direction or width direction of the absorbent article 10 respectively. The high thickness area 33 and the low thickness area 34 are alternately arrayed in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction or the width direction in which they are respectively extended. and the length L1 in the orthogonal direction of the low thickness area 34 is longer than the length L2 in the orthogonal direction of the high thickness area 33.
