PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recalcification promoter without having a problem in safety even on using as an oral composition or foods and drinks, inexpensive and capable of preventing tooth caries or inhibiting its initial stage by promoting the recalcification of decalcified dental enamel, etc.SOLUTION: This recalcification promoter for dental enamel includes a sugar carboxylic acid such as maltobionic acid, which is obtained by oxidizing an aldehyde group at the reduced terminal side of a starch-decomposed material having ≥2 degrees of polymerization or a transfer reaction material, and/or its calcium salt as an active ingredient, and further the oral composition and foods and drinks are produced by adding such recalcification promoter.
