Electrosurgical forceps comprising a pair of jaws 200 mounted at the distal end of a coaxial cable, the first jaw having an outer jaw element 206a and an inner jaw element comprising an applicator pad 210a. First and second electrodes are formed on the applicator pad 201a, and are connected to the coaxial cable through a pair of conductive tracks formed on a flexible dielectric substrate 218a. The outer jaws 206a, 206b engage an actuating element to open and close the jaws. The outer jaws may comprise living hinges 208a, 208b and may be biased outward such that the actuating element may be a sleeve, and sliding the sleeve axially relative to the jaws allows the jaws to open. The jaws may be dimensioned to fit within an endoscope, and the coaxial cable may provide microwave or radiofrequency energy to allow the jaws to seal vessels.
