The present invention addresses the problem of providing a seedling transplanter that can plant a desired field using a desired number of seedling mats. A seedling transplanter: that uses a planting claw (32) to claw seedlings from a seedling mat that is loaded on a seedling platform (33) and to plant the seedlings in a field; and that, by adjusting a vertical take-amount at which the seedling mat, in a plan view, will be clawed in the advancement direction of a travel machine body (2), can change how much of the seedling mat is taken by the planting claw (33). The seedling transplanter is provided with a seedling take-amount calculation unit (70) that can calculate a standard vertical take-amount from the area of the field and the number of seedling mats to be used in said area.
